eCALS

Last September, LAUSD opened the Sotomayor Learning Academies (2050 San Fernando Road, Los Angeles, CA, 90065). The campus houses 5 small learning communities: three pilot schools and two charter schools. eCALS is one of the two charter schools that operates on the campus. Students who live within the attendance boundaries for Franklin High School, Eagle Rock High School and Marshall High School are eligible to enroll. Students who live outside of the attendance boundaries are still eligible to enroll in either of the charter schools.

What is the Early College Academy for Leaders & Scholars (eCALS)?

eCALS is a PUC Schools-operated college preparatory high school located at the Sotomayor Learning Academies. It is one of five schools on the campus. Our focus is to prepare leaders and scholars who are college bound and life ready. Our program includes an early college component which supports students in earning college credit while enrolled in high school. Through our partnerships with the LA Community College District, eCALS students are able to take college courses on our campus and at the local community colleges. Students who desire to accelerate their college credit completion can earn up to one year’s worth of transferable credit. All students will graduate with the A-G requirements for the UC and CSU systems.
